PCC Attends Prince's Trust event

Anthony Stansfeld met unemployed young people who were on a Prince's Trust course on Friday (15/03)

The PCC spoke to young people on The Trust's Get Started with Football programme, delivered by Reading Football Club, which helps to give unemployed young people the skills and confidence to find a job.

The programme offers disadvantaged 16 - 25-year-olds a chance to learn coaching skills from a professional football club, while improving teamwork and communication skills to help them find employment. On the course they also gain a level 1 football coaching award and qualification in first aid.

Young people are also given three months support after the course to help them move into work, education and training.

Anthony Stansfeld said: "It has been really inspiring to meet the young people today. Youth unemployment is a huge problem and I'm committed to working with organisations, like The Prince's Trust, who help jobless young people into jobs."
