Visit to Slough with Fiona Mactaggart MP

Anthony Stansfeld, the Police and Crime Commissioner, will be accompanied by Fiona Mactaggart MP on his visit to Slough tomorrow (22/05).

The focus of the day will be to see projects in the town that are helping to reduce crime by assisting young people, ex offenders and the victims of domestic abuse.

Mr Stansfeld and Ms Mactaggart will first visit Creativity in Sport, where they will meet excluded school pupils and ex offenders who have been given the opportunity to study a positive life skills programme, gain a fitness teaching qualification and then teach and mentor other young and challenging pupils.

The tour will then see Blue Sky, a social enterprise which offers ex offenders employment opportunities in grounds maintenance and waste management. After then visiting East Berkshire Women's Aid Refuge in Slough, a charity offering vital support to victims of domestic violence, Mr Stansfeld and Ms Mactaggart will end the day at Aik Saath, a project that helps young people deal with conflicts and value diversity.
