“An on-duty police officer was involved in a collision last night, leaving him in hospital with life threatening injuries. A 38 year-old man from Slough has been arrested and remains in custody on suspicion of attempted murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The investigation is still ongoing.
“My thoughts are with the officer, his family and his colleagues who will also be deeply affected. It is another stark reminder of the dangers that our police and emergency service colleagues face on a daily basis. Thames Valley Police is supporting the officer’s family at this difficult time.”
Update 25 May:
Thames Valley Police has confirmed the officer is PC Christopher Miller, from the Roads Policing Unit and has issued a renewed appeal to the public for further information. Appeal for information after police officer seriously injured – Buckinghamshire | Thames Valley Police
Update 3 June:
Thames Valley Police has confirmed that PC Christopher Miller is no longer in a life-threatening condition following a road traffic collision in Stoke Poges on 22 May. While PC Miller’s prognosis has improved, he remains in hospital in a critical condition.
