Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley on the latest police officer recruitment figures

The latest figures released by the Home Office show Thames Valley continues to exceed recruitment targets for 2020.

Anthony Stansfeld, Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley, said: "The latest figures released [29 October] show that we continue to exceed our recruitment targets for this year.

“By the end of March 2021, we were due to have recruited an additional 183 police officers for the Thames Valley. However, by the end of September 2020, we are exceeding this target by 77 officers (a total of 260 officers recruited). These figures show how committed we are to delivering the Government's police officer uplift programme.

"We have all seen the importance of our police officers throughout this pandemic. These new recruits will provide the Force with additional resilience for the future.

“We continue to have the support of both the Prime Minister and Home Secretary to make communities safer across the Thames Valley.”
